“Let’s go to the orchard this weekend,” Thomas said. “I want to teach you my family’s secret cider recipe.” 

Thomas ran his fingers through my hair. “Let’s go on a picnic today,” he murmured. 

Thomas pulled himself onto the dock after he did his morning laps in the lake. “What do you say I make us some pancakes?” he asked. 

“Your sister was so nice to let us stay at her cabin this week,” Thomas said as we walked by the water. “But now she’s created a monster because I never want to leave!” 

Thomas tied the boat to the dock. “What a day,” he said, wiping sweat off his forehead. “I’m ready to just open a bottle of wine and sit on the couch with you.”

Thomas gave me the tour of his parents’ farm, stopping at various places to tell me stories and memories. When we got up to the barn loft he kissed me and said, “I’ve always wanted to do that here.”

Thomas and I strolled through the woods behind his parents’ house in Rangeley, tightly gripping our travel mugs of hot chocolate and enjoying the added heat through our gloves. It had been the perfect weekend meeting his parents and seeing the house where he spent his childhood… and it was that weekend that I realized he was the One. 

“I just saw a Groupon for scuba diving lessons,” Thomas told me. “What do you think? We could do them together and then go for a week of scuba diving in La Ceiba.”
